Temitope Adewale, the lawmaker representing Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, has won the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to seek reelection into the state legislature in 2023. Adewale won the party's ticket after polling 27 votes against his opponent who scored three votes. Recall that the primary election, which was earlier scheduled for Thursday, was later shifted to Friday. Speaking after his victory, Adewale, who currently chairs the House Committee on Transportation, expressed gratitude to the delegates for seeing him worthy of the ticket. The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has been officially declared the candidate for the forthcoming election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Agege Constituency 1 of the State House of Assembly. Dr. Obasa was declared winner in the election on Friday after polling the entire 25 votes cast by the delegates at the Iloro, Agege Health Centre venue of the exercise, which was monitored by party and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials. The Speaker won the election without an opponent as an unknown aspirant who earlier appeared as cleared by the party neither showed up nor had his agent at the venue of the exercise. POLICE COMMENCE INVESTIGATION ON ALLEGED LAGOS POWA SHOP FRAUD , DISSOCIATE CURRENT ASSOCIATION.

Discrete investigations have been ordered into the alleged fraud in sales and allocation of Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) shops.  A statement signed by CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer read that this is coming on the heels of a publication in the media alleging that some shops belonging to POWA, were sold fraudulently to multiple buyers causing ruckus between the buyers, while the petitioners called for the Inspector-General’s of Police intervention.  The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, has been mandated to carry out thorough investigations into the matter, and come up with a detailed report. Aggrieved petitioners are urged to remain calm as the Force will unravel, as well as ensure justice in the matter. In response to the apprehension of some suspects of Deborah’s death, some youths in Sokoto, the Sokoto State capital, have launched protests and shut down major roads in support of Deborah’s killers. The protest started early this morning, Saturday 14, May 2022. Samuel Deborah, a 200-level Home Economics student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, Sokoto State, was killed on Thursday, May 12, 2022 by a mob for allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammed. Earlier yesterday, the Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, met with a cross-section of Muslim leaders and the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Bishop Hassan Kukah, among others, in a bid to douse tension over the murder of Deborah.
